12:10 a.m., Officer observed a subject riding a bicycle without lighting equipment. The subject was advised to obtain lighting if going to operate after dark.
12:18 a.m., Officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Walnut Street for a subject that was having anxiety issues. The subject was transported by Emergency Services to Hedrick Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
1:22 a.m., Officer checked well-being of subject in the 300 block of Business Highway 36. Subject was okay.
1:57 a.m., Officers were contacted at the police department by a female in distress. The female advised that her husband had assaulted her at the residence in the 500 block of Elmdale Road, had a weapon, and was going to allegedly kill her. Officers took the report and provided resources to the female. Officers began the investigation and attempted to contact the male, but he would not respond. The female advised that if officers arrived at the residence the male would possibly shoot officers. Officers formulated a plan and applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for the subject. Missouri State Highway Patrol, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and Chillicothe police officers arrived at the residence and subsequently took the male into custody without incident for domestic assault 2nd degree. Cash bond was set at $25,000. The subject was transported to and incarcerated in the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond. Officers also seized firearms per an order of protection paperwork and due to the safety issue.
7:32 a.m., School Resource Officer monitoring traffic in the 900 block of Dickinson Street.
8:09 a.m., School Resource Officer out in the 2600 block of N. Fair on school related matter.
8:30 a.m., School Resource Officer out in the 300 block of E. Jackson Street on school related matter.
11:26 a.m., Officer checking the 2800 block of N. Washington Street reference subject reporting possible attempted break-in. Investigation continuing.
11:33 a.m., Officer speaking with subject on the phone about possible theft in the 500 block of S. Washington Street. Investigation continuing.
12:15 p.m., Call from 600 block of W. Business Highway 36 of suspicious acting subjects. Determined to be waiting on a ride.
12:37 p.m., Report of suspicious subject at JFK and Vine Street. Subject was contacted and was waiting to meet subject for lunch appointment.
12:54 p.m., Officer was contacted in reference to code violations at corner of Jackson and Elm streets. Code Enforcement to be contacted.
1:44 p.m., Report of a possible sex offense was reported to Officer. Investigation continuing.
2:37 p.m., Officers out in 500 block of Elmdale Road reference assault investigation.
4:29 p.m., Officer performed a prisoner transport to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.
4:30 p.m., Officer speaking to subject on phone. Determined to be civil issue and advised to contact an attorney.
5:00 p.m., Officer speaking to subject on phone in reference child exchange issue. No report.
5:52 p.m., Report of subject laying on the ground by storage units by Washington Street viaduct. Subject was found to be in possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia. Subject was processed and released.
6:31 p.m., Report of kids picking on a subject at Gravesville Park. Investigation continuing.
7:18 p.m., Officers checking area of 1000 block of Clay Street for report of a side-by-side vehicle having been tipped over in a wreck. Officers unable to locate.
7:33 p.m., Officers out in 500 block of Elmdale Road on investigation.
8:35 p.m., Request from resident at Calhoun and Walnut streets for officer to assist with catching their cat that had got out. Officer couldn’t locate the cat.
9:06 p.m., Report of disturbance in the 1500 block of Springhill Road. Determined a custody dispute. Handled by officers.
9:53 p.m., Report from 600 block of Webster Street that a subject had struck a passing car. Determined no damage to the vehicle.
10:15 p.m., Noise complaint of loud truck in the 1200 block of N. Washington Street. Truck was located by officer and the subject was counseled on the noise.
10:45 p.m., Officer checking on vehicle at Simpson Park and Washington Street. Subject advised stranded at that location. Situation handled by officer.
11:53 p.m., Report of girls being loud in the area between Jackson and Webster streets. Officer made contact and advised them to quiet down.
On Sept. 4, the Chillicothe Police Department received 120 calls for service.
