2023-24 Chillicothe High School wrestling Lady Hornets junior Tori Stoner (facing camera) uses her back to press Kansas City: Center opponent Diana Tsafack to the mat for a pin at 1:37 of their 145-pounds bout during this past Tuesday’s home-opener double-dual against Center and Cameron. Last Friday at Excelsior Springs, Stoner chiseled her name – perhaps indelibly – into CHS wrestling history when she defeated a Plattsburg opponent by pin in only five seconds. That’s the fastest Chillicothe win by fall ever, regardless of gender or level (varsity or junior-varsity). The previous fastest Lady Hornets pin had been Yoo Jung Lee’s 18-seconds victory two seasons ago. The quickest end ever to a Hornet victory is six seconds, done in varsity action by Kayde Burton in 2017-18 and in a JV bout by Lambert Eller in 2008-09. (JENNIFER SMITH/C-T PHOTO)
