Blackwater Restaurant and Lounge is bringing their summer concert series back to Chillicothe. They kicked off the summer by welcoming a returning 90s tribute band, The Mixtapes, on Friday, May 19. The Blackwater concerts are a fairly new addition to the summer schedule, but they have been a big boost for the restaurant and a bonus night of fun for its patrons. Dennis Hicks, co-owner of Blackwater, has been working with staff for the last three years to try and perfect the planning, advertising, sponsoring, and organizing which goes into a successful concert night. He says that “once you get established, bands actually contact us wanting to play here.” This venue certainly seems to spell success as the local restaurant is featuring six more concert nights this summer.
