Pair of Area Prep Baseball Teams Take District Openers

Two of the three C-T-area high school baseball teams which commenced postseason play in their respective district tournaments last weekend posted victories. In the Class 2 district tourney being hosted by Harrisburg, the BKN Thunder – the Carroll-Livingston Activity Association champion comprised of students from Mendon: Northwestern, Brunswick and Keytesville – had its attack in gear for its quarterfinal-round clash with Fayette.

Soccer Lady Hornets, Lucy Reeter Reset Season Goals Records

Starting the match on the brink of breaking her own year-old record for goals in a season by virtue of a last-seconds tally the night before in a 3-1 win at Kirksville, Chillicothe High School soccer Lady Hornets senior Lucy Reeter equaled her 2021 total with a 14th-minute shot that gave her team a 3-0 lead at St. Joseph: Lafayette Tuesday, then moved to the cusp of being the program’s first-ever 30-goals scorer in a season with her record-eclipsing 29th not quite 10 minutes into the second half as CHS punctuated its 15-6 regular season with a 7-0 victory over Lafayette’s Lady Irish in team record-breaking fashion.
