Mudcats Slow Foe Saturday, Still Slip to 0-4

In their search for a first victory in their 2022 season, the Chillicothe Mudcats made progress Saturday night, highlighted by a Bo Jackson-like throw that cut down a potential run at home plate. However, even though they limited their opponent to single-digit runs for the first time in four tries and had speedy outfielder Jonas Espinal deliver his second 4-hits game already this young season, the visiting Sedalia Bombers’ 5-3 triumph kept their quest unrequited.

Lots of Everything In Mudcats’ Marathon Opening Loss Tuesday

CARROLL, Iowa — Hopefully the Chillicothe Mudcats’ bus driver had some energy drink available Tuesday night. Having recovered from squandering the 5-0 lead returnee Tanner Sears’ third-inning grand slam gave them to be up by five again going to the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mudcats saw a 4-runs advantage with two ninth-frame outs on the host Carroll Merchants vanish, then could not preserve a 15-14 margin in the 12th late Tuesday night, falling 16-15 in 12 in their 2022 season debut.

‘Kids Fish Day’ Is Today

After missing a year or two, due to COVID, Chillicothe’s Kids Fish Day returns today. Co-sponsored by the North Missouri Sportsman’s Alliance and Missouri Department of Conservation, this event offers area youngsters the opportunity to fish where they are sure there are plenty of fish (extra stocking courtesy of MDC) and they can receive instruction and assistance, as needed, in their efforts.
